BALLET/TAP COMBINATIONS:
3-4 year old: A 45 minute, once a week class that focuses on creative movement, music and rhythm, and basic ballet and tap techniques. Students will learn to take verbal directions, follow the teacher’s example & to wait their turn. They will learn to count to eight, memorize short exercise combinations, & stop & go on musical cues in a fun and nurturing environment.
DRESS CODE: Leotard of your choice, pink tights, pink ballet shoes (not “slippers”), and black tap shoes.
Kindergarten/1st grade: A one hour, once a week class that focuses on introducing ballet and tap technique, with the goal of enhancing rhythm and motor skills. Students will learn that music has phrasing & rhythm, identify parts of the body, stop & go on musical cues & memorize short exercise combinations in a fun and nurturing environment.
DRESS CODE: Black leotard of your choice, pink tights, pink ballet shoes (not “slippers”), and black tap shoes.
2nd/3rd grade: A one hour, once a week class that focuses on more in depth learning of ballet and tap vocabulary & technique to include memorizing longer exercise combinations, learning to count music, learning spatial & movement concepts in a fun, nurturing manner.

Ballet 1: (Ages 6-8) A one hour once a week class that focuses on introducing the terminology, body placement and movements of ballet.
Ballet 2: (Ages 8-12 ) A one hour once a week class for dancers with the equivalent of Ballet 1, Ballet/Tap or older beginners. Students will focus on furthering their knowledge of basic ballet steps, posture, etiquette, vocabulary.
Ballet 3: (Ages 10-12 ) A class in which the students in Ballet 2 are invited by the instructor to stay an extra 30 minutes to focus on more complicated and longer combinations in the center.
Young Teen Ballet 2/3: (Ages 12-15) A one hour once a week class for less experienced or new dancers to ballet that will focus on basic ballet technique, vocabulary, body mechanics and movement.
Ballet IV: A 1.5 hour twice a week class focusing on ankle strengthening and preparing the body for pointe work while developing more competence in ballet technique, vocabulary, with introduction to more advanced and complicated steps and combinations.
Ballet V: (Beginning pointe) A 30 min class in which students selected by the instructor stay for elementary pointe work. Students must be at least 12 years old and have demonstrated that they are physically and mentally ready.
Ballet VI: A 1.5 hour twice a week pointe class focusing on developing strength, advanced ballet technique, steps, combinations and expression. Students must be at least 13 years old and have demonstrated proper technique, and strength on pointe.
HIP HOP: DRESS CODE: Loose fitting clothes, tennis shoes NO JEANS OR JEWELRY
Beginning: (Ages 6-10) A one hour once a week fun class that introduces young children to hip hop movements appropriate for their age group using popular children’s music.
Intermediate: (Ages 11-14) A one hour once a week fun class that introduces more advanced hip hop movements appropriate for the age group using appropriate music.
Teen Hip Hop: (Ages 12 & up) A one hour once a week class focusing on movements appropriate for older teens using edited or “clean” popular music.
Advanced Hip Hop: One hour once a week fun class focusing on perfecting fundamental movements (popping, krumping, stepping). Attending competitions is optional.
JAZZ: DRESS CODE Loose pants or jazz pants with any type of jazz shoe
Jazz 1: (Ages 6-8) A one hour once a week fun class that introduces age appropriate basic jazz moves and music.
Jazz 2: (Ages 9-11) A one hour once a week fun class that focuses on developing skill and strength of basic jazz movements, combining various movements into short combinations using age appropriate music and choreography.
Jazz 3: A one hour once a week class focusing on more advanced steps & technique, and longer combinations. Students must have had previous jazz, lyrical or ballet experience and be at least 12 years old.
Jazz 4: A one hour once a week class focusing on perfecting fundamental moves and more complicated and longer combinations. Students must show competency in basic jazz.
LYRICAL: DRESS CODE: Loose or jazz pants with jazz/lyrical shoes or half socks
Intermediate: A one hour once a week class focusing on more advanced movements. Previous experience in jazz, ballet or lyrical required.
TAP: DRESS CODE: Loose pants and black tap shoes without heels
Beginning: (Ages 8-11) One hour once a week fun class introducing basics of tap dancing.
Intermediate/Advanced: A one hour once a week class focusing on more advanced tap steps and combinations. Three years tap experience required.
ADULT CLASSES: NO DRESS CODE
Ballet: A one hour no performing once a week class focusing on the basics of ballet as a way towards fitness. No experience required.
Tap: A one hour once a week fun class focusing on basic/intermediate tap steps and combinations as a fun way to exercise. No experience required. Performance in recitals is optional.
Adult Hip Hop/Jazz Combo: A fun Saturday morning class for anyone looking for aerobic exercise. This class is taught at the individual skill level of each dancer. The class will help increase flexibility, muscle tone and overall health of the dancer. The class will alternate weekly focusing on hip hop one week and jazz the next week. This class is for the beginner to experienced dancer.
DANCE TEAMS:
Sapphire Team: DRESS CODE: Spandex shorts, jazz pants, jazz/lyrical shoe of your choice. A one hour once a week practice for invited only 6-12 year olds to advance their knowledge and abilities in jazz, tap and lyrical.
Emerald Team: DRESS CODE: Spandex shorts, jazz pants, jazz/lyrical shoe of your choice. A one hour once a week practice that prepares students for high school and higher level dance teams. Auditions are required, and will be announced. Two years’ experience required, and must be at least 11 years old to audition.
Diamond Team: DRESS CODE: Spandex shorts, jazz/lyrical shoe of your choice. Advanced dance team with a minimum one and a half hours once a week practice. Coach may require more practices to learn/perfect choreography. Danceers are expected to learn four/five routines in jazz, lyrical, contemporary and hip hop which are performed at competitions, recitals and other events. This team requires dedication, but it is a great way to make friends, travel, improve dancing and performing skills and be a part of a team. Audition required.
